Its Not About Race
I think Albom's point in writing this column was to get his point across that race has been an issue for the longest time in many different situations. The more people bring it up, the bigger the issue will get. He is basically saying to keep race out of any situation unless it is serious. I agree with Albom because the world in general constantly has to bring up the issue of race. People can't just let things go and accept what happened. They always have to have a reason or excuse for why they are getting blamed for something they did. Albom does a good job on trying to convince the reader to agree with him by giving examples of how Lebron did not get criticized when he did good things and accomplished certain goals, only when he made a bad or controversial topic. Albom also brings up about how Lebron made a T.V special about him making his decision. His ego is huge and he is simply begging for attention. Lebron could have easily told the press which team he switched to instead of making it a big deal and opening the door for the race issue to be brought up.
