In the article "Law banning items from rearview mirrors is being rethought" by Matt Helms, Helms is addressing the issue of objects hanging from the rearview mirrors. My favorite quote from this article is, "Some things are gaudy, and I could understand banning that, but this air freshener doesn't distract my view." Someone they interviewed was explaining that some things are truly distracting and then should be addressed but a simple air freshener has not got in the way of seeing the road for however long he was driving. The ban should be less strict. Graduation tassels and air fresheners should be able to be hung from the mirror. Fuzzy dice I agree obstructs the view of the driver and can be a distraction.
